Plastic Figurines and Real People
My little sister had a birthday and a couple of weeks ago all of the kids attending the McDonald's party were given Narnia figurines. I thought something was funny about the toys. It took me a while to figure out what seemed off with them. Finally, I realized that I didn't like plastic manufactured figurines made out of my favorite series that is far from plastic-y. It seemed a shame to have the movie represented in that way. Hand-carved with wood would have been wonderful, though expensive. I don't think C.S. Lewis would have liked it much.
Check out www.tyronewells.com if you get a chance. Tyrone Wells is a singer...a good one. He performed at GRCC today and I managed to stick around and talk with him afterwards, then also at my store. He is a real person and loves Jesus. Pray for him. The S. California music industry must be a crazy business to be immersed in, though it certainly needs people to be salt and light.
God Bless your day!

There really isn't a ton of cool stuff on his site, but he's a very warm person. His performance was very personal and genuine as well as entertaining. I wish more of him came through.
And yes, I am alive :0)
